Why did you join IHP?

We needed a centralised service for basic day to day items to begin with - in turn, this helped reduce admin time and costs.

What savings do you expect to make annually?

We're saving around 15-20% against the previous prices we were paying. Savings vary between stationery and supplies so we cannot yet put an exact figure on it.

What benefits has IHP generated for your organisation?

The time spent on administration of these things has greatly reduced, as well as helping us save money.

How has IHP helped your organisation maximise the savings available to you?

We've been introduced to alternative suppliers whom we had not previously considered and are also able to take advantage of the combined purchasing power of the Members which allows us to enjoy specially negotiated rates.

Friendly liaision that ensures tasks are completed when we are busy within our day to day responsibilities

No real projects to speak of, as yet, just a benchmark pricing review of routine purchasing.

Accessibility, reliability and delivery.

What level of service have your IHP suppliers provided for you and your organisation? (Please give examples where possible.) 

We have been pleased with the service delivery but proper planning ensures that nothing is urgent or outstanding, thus saving us time and effort.

How has the new Central Billing system helped to streamline your purchasing?

Reduced admin, single invoice - easy to manage.

What challenges did you face when setting up central billing?

None at all.

How will your residents/patients benefit from the savings you make?

Cost savings in basic areas will permit continued investment in staff and resources to ensure that service levels are not eroded.

What would you say to other healthcare providers that are considering becoming a Member of IHP? 

Consider it seriously. We appreciate that it's not necessarily for everyone but it has definitely worked for us.
