Interview with IHP Account Manager, Matt Hanley.

New IHP Account Manager, Matt Hanley, tells us about his new role and future plans for IHP.

How did you get the role?

In October 2009 I received a promotion from IHP's sister company Procurement for Housing (PfH). I was employed by PfH for a year as an office based sales executive. The move to IHP has given me the flexibility to meet Members in person with the convenience of the meeting taking place in the Members' own organisations. This enables IHP to provide a high level of customer service, tailored to Members' requirements.

What does your role entail?

The role entails the day-to-day management of IHP Member requirements, ensuring that value for money is obtained when purchasing via IHP. I also meet Members at IHP Exhibition stands at the sectors major conferences. I work closely with the procurement team and enjoy being customer facing!

What is the best thing about your role?

The best thing about my role is the interaction with the IHP Members. Many Members don't realise we can offer much more than what they already use IHP for. Members can even invite me to raise money by taking part in fundraising events!

What are your plans for the future with IHP?

I would like to see IHP become the leading purchasing consortium within the private healthcare sector. I expect to see IHP grow to become the sectors procurement service provider of choice, generating mass savings that can be re-invested into the care that patients and families receive.
